GI cache for fly through?

Hi,
calculating the GI during a fly through for every frame isn't efficient, since nearly the same calculation is redone on the next frames. Is there planed a GI cache option for this cases? If not, please add it to the wish list.
Ciao,
Micha

When you render to light fields, you get a result much better than GI backing.

Today I looked the light field video first time. Impressive!!!
The question for me as viz freelancer is, is this feature heavy to calculate and will it cost a lot of GPU power? Than it's not so useful for me and my every day clients. I afraid light field is something for the big CG industry. So, GI cache could be for user like me more interesting, since it help me to save time and GPU power.

We are adding this to orc.otoy.com as a render option that extends VR static viewpoint cube maps. You can provide a pano render target as the anchor, and then a volume radius for the LF render job (typically ~50 cm cubed). ORC will generate the lightfield within a few hours (typically), store it on the cloud, and you can than quickly generate new viewpoints/animations/VR stereo panos within the volume through the orc web site - this will also support render passes. Beyond faster offline re-renders of new views, we are planning to let you to publish a live stream into the light field - e.g. walkthroughs that you can share with a URL - like the live Octane 3 demo on our home page.
