Hello bonjour,
I'm pretty sure myquestion is stupide and the answer very simple, but I can't figure it out. I made search here and on google, watched several tutorial, but can't find the answer... When I watched tutorials they seems to have other menus than mine.

I just want something very simple : render in octane, what is called the object buffer in C4d, I just need some simpleblack and white masks....

I'm using C4D R16.050 and octane 2.16.2. and I use Octane as a plug in C4D, I don't use the full soft.
Again, I'm sorry and the answer must be very simple, but I need help

Well, I guess I will just render the Object buffer with the standard renderer... :(

You need version 2.24 and render layer mask sets. See image. I see you watched some tutorials but not render pass tutorials.

I struggle to get this to work as expected. I'll select ID1-3 under "render layer mask" but keep running into objects all showing up on the same layer (ID1).

What am I doing wrong? I don't believe Mesh No. and Object ID affect the outcome but have tried changing those numbers as well.

Hi,

I am having a bit of trouble working this out too. I am using version 2.24.2-R2 and some of the menus are different to the ones in the tutorial. I have also used the settings you have shown in the picture but I still get complete blank passes.

Any other ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks

Hi,
I'm guessing, have you added all the necessary object tags to identify your geometry?
Is the option "Resend Only Updated Objects" active in Render Settings/ Octane Render/ Geometry Engine?
ciao beppe

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have the object tag on the correct geometry and also "Resend Only Updated Objects" is active. I think the problem may have been not having "ObjectID" and "Render Layer mask" ticked on in the Info Passes menu. It seems to have done the trick.

Thanks again.
