I have bought the Octane standalone + Poser plugin. Now Standalone activated and poser plugin says error activating account... I have been talking
to otoy help desk people, they asked for a screencap of the error message. So i sent it to them and then they go quiet, no answers no nothing... just
dead... then some other person apologizes to me for slow response time, and explains that i was dealing with someone from New Zealand and theyre
closed for now.... It's been 5 hours since then and noone from LA or New Zealand answers my emails, letting me know WTF is going on...

CUSTOMER SERVICE score = 0!!!!! i have wasted a whole day waiting for someone to even answer me and let me know how long will it take to fix my
problem or if it will be fixed atall! Now i go on the forums to try to post something to get help somewhere else since help desk is "DEAD". But I findout
that i cant post in all the areas EVEN THOUGH i bought the damn product already and the licenses are assigned to my account... WOW!

Incompetence level - mastery!!!

I will check in with OTOY NZ to make sure they get back to you ASAP. You should not normally wait more than 24 hours for a response on license activation issues.

Hi everybody,

Just to reiterate our solution for Tigersan from the previous week, for the benefit of any other "OctaneRender™ for POSER®" users struggling with this issue:

It is highly likely that your license not activating due to interference from your Firewall. Poser needs to be granted access through your firewall when you first install it - otherwise the Firewall will block validation. If you did not do this already, follow these steps:
  • - Go to "Windows Firewall" under "Control Panel"
    - Select "Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall". This will redirect you to the "Allowed Programs" interface.
    - Find any items related to Poser and tick them if they are not already.
    - Close Poser. Reopen Poser and attempt the license activation again.
(NOTE: For non-Windows users, please consult the documentation for your OS regarding how to grant access past your firewall to your applications. Also, consult the relevant documentation if you are using a third-party Firewall).
