Windows 10

Just upgraded to windows 10. Based on quick check that everything works okay, I noticed that Octane goes seemingly faster. It would be nice to see proper benchmarks to confirm this, because what I have seen elsewhere in gaming the difference in frame rate was about 0,5% between win 7 and 10, where win 7 scored better.
Unfortunately I don't have any data from my previous win 7 render results, so I can't do any comparisons.

Based on my memory, with PMC kernel my IPR said about 3,5 MS / sec, now same scene goes in 5,9 MS/ sec.
It goes like crazy fast now..

Yes, feels like I did get a major update, instead of just cosmetic.

So the prevailing wisdom is that there are a lot of bugs in Windows 10 and that holding off for a month or two is the right play. Can anyone who is on Windows 10 confirm?
Also I would definitely be more interested in hearing discussion in specifically what is faster about octane render.

Works like a charm to me. Nothing unexpected has happened.
Lightwave3D, what I mainly use, works better. It opens faster, overall better performance in heavier scenes, panels open faster etc.. Octane loads faster, and the actual render speed is faster. To me, win10 feels like highly optimized win7.
"Overall wisdom".. I think most of it is just biased BS.
Oculus however recommends to DK2 users and
developers to not upgrade before 20th of this month (august), they release SDK 0.7 then and it is a big update. In previous windows versions DK2 was "hacked in" , but win10 will support it, and other HMDs, natively.

Installation went butter smooth to me and all of my software works, works better in fact.

Yes, I had a lot of issues right after upgrading, but now it seems to work fine and it's faster than Win7.
I can't confirm if Octane runs better on Win10, my scenes are usually so heavy that doesn't really matter anyway

So if you guys are on Win 7, I wonder what the speed up would be like in my case. Win 8.1. I keep getting the Win 10 install nag, so I might have to pony up soon, but I'm trying to remain patient. I told myself I would wait a month while they iron out some bugs.

Installed on 2 machines. On my home PC for Octane - 0 problems, win 10 install 30 minutes, fast & furious, all works like a charm. Installed win 10 on Lenovo mobile workstation.... needed to go back to win7 very fast. Constant lags/crashes/restart taking eons (20min for restart) and bluescreens.

Wow!
Would be nice if you guys have more numbers in gaining performance in OctaneRender speedby upgrading to Windows 10, but these numbers are amazing!
Do you have to install all software and licenses all over or does the upgrade from 8 to 10 keep all installed software?
When other software might not be working correctly on 10... Is it easy to go back to early 8 installation without having lost software installations?
Cheers,
