HoverCars.JPG
Hello there!

I have a little problem while rendering motion blur (internal 0.0100 / After) in my car rig scene.
<< See the Screenshot >>
Always when I turn on motion blur, The tires disappear. except of 4 Rims of one car !? But still without the tire.
All the objects are set to movable proxy. It looks like there is enough mem left.

Thank you for your help!
Daniel

Sorry. There it is!

Hope it is not the 2015 Back To The Future Bug ;)

Could it be that it is because they are instanced? I had a thing a whileback with motionblur not playing nicely with instanced objects. Think this may have to do with octane not looking at the transform but at the shape when calculating motionblur? that is just guessing though.

I would love to hear a solution, if you found one!
I'm having the same issue.

check the tires without rotation to see results. If it's ok without rotations so you'll need to use more time sampling for motion blur. Time sampling is a division factor for one frame. You need this for very fast scale or rotate movements. Otherwise a kind of flip effect will happens.

Thank you Aoktar,
Are you referring to "Number of MB time samples" in Subframe motion blur type?
Because it is set to 100, the highest value it will take.

Do you have actual keyframes on your rotation? Just had the same problem (in C4D though) and Octane wasn't picking up proper subframes when I didn't bake my animation to keyframes (had it linked to an expression)

Hi derflow, thanks for the reply,

The wheels are not manually keyframed, they are rotated by set driven key.
I should try to bake out the keyframes. Didn't think of that. Good idea, thanks!

Hey guys, Sorry for the late reply on my originally posted thread.
My solution was to use the other MB option which worked fine for me.
The only limitation was, that you're not able to see it in (at least maya) preview window.
And the fact that you need to render your animation starting with second frame. In some cases I had to move the keyframes but it worked finally.

Hope that helps!
