Also if it will be possible to use the variation shader it could be really handy!

I prefer to wait until OSL support in Octane.

Definitely getting a negative reaction from quite a few corners.

For me personally, Takes is huge in production as are the Animation improvements.
Looking forward to getting my hands on it.

@aoktar: Do you foresee any issues moving to R17 or have you already got a build working in it?

cheers

If you notified the R17 teasers, you'll see that octane menu on top. In short, R16 versions of plugin will run without recompile. But i have to do some big revisions to adopt new standards of R17. You can run R16 version until a R17 compilation is ready.

Agree - there is not so much 'must have' stuff inside.

agree

Maxon takes plugins which you may have bought already a year ago for maybe about 100,- Euros,
buys and implements them in C4D (with some improvements of course)
and sells them again for 800,- Euros with new C4D-Version. So you pay twice for nearly same functionality.
(Take-System, Camera-Kalibration, Motion Camera and more ....... all earlier plugins)

Not so smart I think!

regards
Mike

Meh.
I thought r16 was lackluster, but this release takes a price :/

Would be cool to integrate the Display color shader to Octane also.
