Awesome video pedrojafet, especially for a 8600M GT user like myself. I will need to upgrade soon

Hmmm the GTX 275 looks like a fast card! Thanks for posting the vid.
Were all the materials in this vid diffuse only? Any glossy/specular materials?

There are some glossy materials, with low power, but no specular was needed there. If you are asking about the rendering speed, I didn't fell to much difference with specular material in other tests.
This engine makes magic...

GPU is deffo the way forward. I just wonder if I ever need to upgrade my Q6600 now!
I use Modo mainly but I'm really looking to Octane as my primary render engine. I'm also an LW/Fprime user, I wonder if Worley labs will ever go down the GPU route, if so then I may be going back to LW/Fprime mix.
Thanks again for posting the vid, was nice to see the difference between a high-end card and a mid-range one.

We use the same tools.
FPrime is the best to setup the scene light and surface.
Even to final render too...
The Modo's render is very fast too.
With Newtek Core (maybe ready in 2016 - You know NewTek), they promiss export Collada format, and this ill be in Octane 1.0.
You can find on
http://www.flay.com many LW plugins to export RIB format, and this will be usefull when Octane do a batch render.

I can't seem to rely on Fprime these days, for one it takes forever to refine the aliased edges! This used to be super speedy around v2.5-3. If Worley does open up GPU processing then we'll have access to all those fancy material nodes
I didn't plump for the CORE beta, if I hadn't been using Modo at that time then I think I would have gone down that route.
Fingers crossed Collada is an option for Octane

Surprised that LW9.6 doesn't export to Collada. I rarely use it these days.
*edit*
Thanks for letting me know that RIB is supported with an external plug-in, nice

Happy to see your video
I use the same tools as you guys and always waiting for nvidia fermi cards out.
I have the same feeling for worley FPrime. I really would like to know what he plans about gpu, but he seems to be not very informative about the future of his products...
I also try to include Kray in my pipeline specially for interior archviz stills.
