No dof on passes?

Hello!
I'm noticing the DOF in my main beauty pass doesn't affect the Z pass... (Lightwave 11.6.2)
Am I missing something?
Another problem I had last night with Lightwave 2015, I rendered a 600 frame scene, F9 worked, IPR was rendering everything (It's a particle scene with instances on the particles) but all the frames, including the Zpass, are blank (actualy transparent) EXR output, single file (no multy layer exr)
Is It a known problem?

Do you have the "Distributed Ray Tracing" flag enabled in the Info passes?
I am not sure about your second problem. Can you please send me the scene to test it here?, do you have also this problem if you render the passes to PNG files?

ok, the disrtibited ray tracing solved the first issue,
I'm going to check the png export but there is something else. The original scene (particle + stars instance) rendered fine until frame 40 where I had an error. (error 700 on device 1)
I rebuilt the secen from scratch and here we go again, stroped rendering at frame 44/200.
the log says again:

This stupid scene is so simple, I'm getting nuts! I rendered a full 600 frames of an opening, same layout (particles, stars instanced and many other hand animated meshes (floating islands, cars, bottles, achitectural elements, etc) and It rendered FINE. I'm now using the exact same stars meshes, I don't have any more complicated elements, only stars and particles, and It keeps aborting the render. Same computer, same hardware, same drivers, etc.

Weird, the 700 error means a lot of things, from memory problems to a hardware failure.
How many GPUs do you have? ... can you test to render the scene with only one GPU to know if there is a problem with any of them?
I could also test the scene here if you send it to me. Also could be useful to have the full log.

Thank you for your help.
Here is the new lw 11.6.2 scene and the complete log

When I shut down the lightwave after the render failure, I'm able to rerendre some more frames before a new failure. It's a very hot day here and I'm wondering if It could be the device 1 heating up too much. This is the only GPU that isn't water cooled (after burner shows the temp at 82 now with full fan speed)

I need a .pfx file that is not in the .rar file, but anyway your scene is rendering here without problems so far. Perhaps there is hardware problem with your not water cooled GPU. You could try to disable it.

That's exactly the problem.
I could render the scene previously because the weather wasn't that hot... but now, for 2 days, It's around 40 and my office is just under the roof.
I still have this other lw 2015 scene that rendred 600 empty frames.
I'm going to test out some more and I'll send you the scene if I can't find the cause.
Again, thank you for your time.

Marc, 480s are probably the hottest GPUs ever made. They are notorious for it. If you are not monitoring temps, you really should be. Go grab OpenHardwareMonitor, which is free and doesn't even need installed. I suggest running it, setting it to start at win startup, right click on GPU temps (both) and choosing to display in taskbar. You can do the same for CPU temp as well.
And if you are upstairs (or in a loft like me), pointing a fan down steps can make a huge difference.

I should update my infos, I now have a dual GTX 780 TI and a 690 for display only. But the 780 ti air cooled is the one crashing above 83 degrees. The water cooled one stays under 60 (45-55)
I have airconditionning but unfortunatly I couldn't use It as It's crashing my server each time it starts. (looks like a bad contact, a weak electric network and a dead UPS battery.) I'll take time to fix all those problems once this job is over, in the next few days,
Gracias para su ayuda!
