Hello Everyone.

Paul, I have been bumping into this error now and then, it's weir as i can't seem to find something that triggers it. Comes out of the blue.

It goes like this:

Hit render
Screen flashes(VGA error)
Error 999

After this happens, NO MATTER WHAT i try to render comes as error 999, no matter from which scene i'm renderem.
Situation only comes back to noemal booting my machine. then any scene works except the cursed scene that carries the 999.

Hes is the scene for you guys to have a look. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ccmzoyvh23p76 ... H.rar?dl=0

Cheers!
Raf

Edit to the above....that scene loaded and rendered fine in Modo801 on my PC. On Modo901 it gradually uses more and more memory until my PC hung. Perhaps you have more RAM and are using Modo901 and get through that stage?

So /if/ you are on Modo901, this is either

a) A Modo901 bug (most likely)

b) The replicators are using the point cloud sources - and maybe (and I didn't check this) the Modo901 version of the plugin is processing those into Scatter nodes, whereas the Modo801 plugin is ignoring them....meaning the total number of triangles in the scene is either 1) exceeding the 19.6 million Octane limit, or 2) Creating billion of triangles from the Scatter node resulting in your video card timing out.

If it is b)2), then installing Octane Standalone via the installer .exe will setup your Nvidia registry settings correctly to avoid the time-out.

Hope that helps a little.

Paul

Hi Paul!

I'm using 801 SP3

Will check everything you mentioned.
I mentioned VGA meant graphic card.

Cheers

Hi Raf - do you get this error on all scenes, or just this one? If on all scenes - it sounds like a hardware issue. Check your GPU temps and power supply (although overheating produces a cuda error first). Also make sure your cards are not overclocked.
