Net Render in Octane ... possible?

Is it possible to draw from other GPUs on the network? I know I did it in Vray, but I'm curious whether it is an Octane option as well.

(I don't mean backburner-type solutions where frames are doled out. I mean multiple computers all contributing to the same frame.)

Thanks!

Yeah, but you need a standalone license for each slave machine. Max 12 GPUs.

If it's an employee's modeling machine, do I need the standalone plus the max plugin for each machine?

I should have been more explicit...

There are two users/machines in the office. Only one of us will be using Octane at any given time, but I'd like whoever that is to be able to use all GPUs in the office. (I may occasionally use backburner as well, if that matters) I currently have one copy of standalone and one max plugin. What do I need to buy to make this happen?

Thanks again!

You will only need one plugin licence running on the master with the Standalone licence ofcourse.
You need one extra Standalone licence for every slave.

So in your case you will need one more Standalone licence to use your second machine as a slave.
One machine runs the max plugin and has Octane Standalone licence as a master.
Second machine runs as slave and needs only one Standalone licence.

If you want to add another machine for GPU, you need a third Standalone licence.

Thanks. Just because I'm slow and want to make sure I'm understanding... I could still use Octane inside of MAX on both machines, correct?

With one plugin licence you can use it only at one machine at the time.
You can deactivate the plugin licence on one machine, and then activate it on your second machine.
I think there some time to wait between deactivating and activate to work.. about an hour.. I am not sure though.
(You also can deactivate the Standalone and activate it on another machine.)

Just try it.
