HDRI lighting with an enclosed room

Hi,

I have a scene lit with an HDRI environment. The scene itself is enclosed in a 'room', just a big cube essentially, with walls, floor, and a ceiling, no windows.

How do I stop the room from occluding the HDRI? I tried adding an object tag and turning off 'Shadow Visibility', but it doesn't seem to work.

Can you use the Portal material without making the geometry disappear in the render?

I'd normally do this with a compositing tag in native C4D.

(Sorry, first day in Octane).

Cheers!

Hey!

Thanks for the reply. Yes sorry, you're right, it does work to a degree.

My problem is that it changes the lighting of the scene as the light bounces around the room. I need it to not contribute light or bounce light at all.

Think I will need to do 2 passes, one for the object and one for the room.

Cheers!
