Same material, different results on different geo [RESOLVED]

Ok, I have a plain, diffuse texture I made and I applied it to two different objects, and they look completely different. Whats going on here? Its not the lighting because there's only one major light source and its hitting both the wall and that monitor the same way. I've tried resending the scene, closing and reopening the project, nothing. I can't figure it out. For reference, the darker version is the correct look of the material.

it's difficult to say without seiing the scene... the first thing that I would check on your objects are:
- phong angle
- normals direction

Thanks for the suggestions GIOLETS. It was a (strangely) flipped normals issue.
