Hi, recently I've been getting timeouts with a Win 8 intervention causing a shutdown of the render and plugin and sometimes Poser as well. I've tried going back to earlier drivers and reinstalling Octane standalone but to no benefit. This is all recent so I don't know what else could be the problem. I've also run an anti-virus scan of the system. Any advice and also where could I find info on external expansion boxes?

Now I get this on opening a viewport:

Umm, I just restarted Poser Pro 2014 and opened a version of the file in question where there are even more transparency maps and got a successful render. Oh and just prior I downloaded and installed the beta of the Poser plugin. I'm confused alright

When reporting issues like this, could you pls provide the info requested in the first post at
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=42585 so that I know which versions you are running.
If you get a windows time-out, install any version of Octane Standalone (the .exe installer, not .zip), which will set your Windows registry timeout settings correctly.

Right now I've ended up with the latest nVidia driver version 350.12, Octane for Poser 2.23.18 64 bit and Octane standalone 2.23.2 64 bit windows. Poser is Poser Pro 2014 with the 5th patch. The troubles seemed to end when the very last thing I installed was the Octane standalone. Do the nvidia installers rewrite the time delay? In any case when the Geforce Experience recommends another driver update I'm going to run the Octane standalone installer again.

You only need to install Octane Standalone once for the time-out registry settings to be correctly assigned. You should be good from now on.
