goodmoning everybody,
I have some stupid question about octane:
1- it's true that for work octane, need internet connection?
2- i know, it's impossible use SLI system but octane can use 2 or 3 videocard. I know that if you have 2 Nvidea cards, one with 2gb adn one with 1 gb the memory use under the rendering will be 1 gb (right?) on both card, it's the same for the cuda ?
thank you so much and sorry for the english..i'm italian :D

Hi Yogurt,

these are not stupid questions and the answer to both questions is yes, you are right. I.e. yes, you need an internet connection and yes the lowest amount of VRAM of all used graphic cards is limit for the scene to render. This is due to the fact that the scene is duplicated on each graphics card and not distributed. But if you run into the situation that you need more than 1GB, you can always disable the low-memory card for CUDA and then use the full 2GB of the other card.

Cheers,
Marcus

No, slow connection will not have any impact, because there is very little data transfer between your PC and the server.

If your internet connection is not stable - that might give you some problems, but Refractive said that they are working on a solution that would not require constant internet connection in the future.
