waiting for the Light field player

Hi,
last year I was already able to create stereoscopic panoramas with Octane, watch them with Oculus DK2 and the Kolor player. I think that the "living pictures" are the interesting thing.
I ordered one S6 + Gear VR (finally available) because I want to see if 360° stereo renders can be visualized with the light field technology.
I don't want to wait for a 360° Light field camera from Lytro.
regards

We're working on it, but our timing is going to be based on supporting real PC VR devices like CV1. The DK2 is not a mass market device, and in fact you can't get them any more.
The Gear VR is a good starting point. Any 360 image/video render you make in Octane for the ORBX gear player, is 99% of the way there for a light field render, which will just give you a 1 cubic meter volume to move in per light field render job.
If you want to send us an ORBX scene we can render a test for you, but it will be on orc.otoy.com too.
The first live light field streams will be our HTML client in a normal viewport - just like we know have stereo cube map viewing on the web site.

Coming to ORBX Media Player 3.1. Here is the internal build running on the Gear VR:

OMP 3.0 went out live on Friday, with a lot of the foundational pieces needed for the above (including live streaming).

So when can we actually view this content? I have fun streaming my desktop to the GearVr, but it would nice to see a light field attached to my vive controller in a gearvr.
