WIP UPDATE - 07/26/15

And thats a wrap! I've uploaded my submission. Check it out!

WIP UPDATE - 07/07/15

Just about done! I've got two versions, one of them is an upside down version. Which feels more interesting to you? And which one makes sense given this image takes place in space?

WIP UPDATE - 6/04/15

Finally starting to texture. I've decided I'll have to render the earth separately and then comp it in. The project is just too massive now and my comp can't handle it. Having to wait 2min. for the LV to update is killing my productivity.

WIP UPDATE - 5/25/15

Experimenting with mood and lighting now. Also started getting cables in. Modeling is almost finished! Then its on to texturing.

WIP UPDATE - 5/15/15

Been a busy week for me, so not a lot of progress, but I got a few more things modeled in, and I'm starting to experiment with the texture of the earth.

WIP UPDATE - 5/5/15

More "stuff" modeled and crammed in there. Still need to add cables and a few more gadgets and things, and then its on to cables. So many cables...

Here's another 360 view in browser. Using Dermandar instead of photoshphere this time, so now there isn't any weird low-poly distortion in the projection.

ORIGINAL POST

Reserving a post for myself for WIP on my entry for the Render The Metaverse Competition.

Here's my current work in progress. I don't have gearVR, but I do have a cardboard headset! If you have one as well, go ahead and download the attachement, throw it into your DCIM or pictures folder on your phone, pop it into your cardboard headset, and run the cardboard app. Select "Photospheres", and you should see it! Enjoy. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

If you don't have any way to view these files, I have a photosphere posted that you can browse in your browser here (note that Photospheres uses a very low-poly sphere for projection, so as you look towards the poles, you'll see some awful warping. But hey, its free!):

Can you guess what I'm making yet?

You got it! I'm having a lot of fun with it. Maybe too much. I keep looking at my render through Google Cardboard instead of actually working on it. lol

Cool!

How the f*ck do you share your uploaded panos on Dermandar? I've uploaded and can view it - but no share button etc?
