Layers

Could not find much on them in the blender octane manual .. in Blender Cycles, I can apparently put obj1 in layer1 and assign layer1 to only render layer 1, then do the same with obj2 for render layer 2. It seems to then render each layer independently and I can access them later in compositing and put them together.

With Blender Octane, that doesn't seem to work .. it rendered all my layers in one image first, then rendered a second time, displaying nothing?

How does this work?

PS: Do we have a more complete manual somewhere, that goes in depth of all in blender octane and which blender features work with octane, other than the fairly simple manual on otoys site, that only explains standard octane features?

As a newbie, I'm just discovering layers myself ... my goal was to only load parts of a scene to the VRAM to save VRAM, then do another render layer .. and then combine them in composite. Should more or less work with a scene, where the separate objects do not influecne each other much (no reflections, no shadwos nearby etc).

How does this work?

Guys, the manual hasn’t been updated in ages and it won’t be most likely in any near(far?) future either.

2.75 version is like a month away and the Blender Octane version is still on 2.73.
