Hi All,

Long time workey, not much postey....

A Project we've been involved with for a while. Paramount luxury tower in the Miami Worldcenter development.

So, here we go. 2 Videos all Octane:

1/ Day: https://vimeo.com/123419820?from=outro-local
2/ Night: https://vimeo.com/125481241

Deets:

-Octane/Max 2.11.1
-1280 x 720 upsampled in AFX
-PT, 6 bounce
-5-60 mins per frame
-avg. frame time 20 mins (on Dual Titan boxes)
-samples range from 512-10240
-all frames rendered as EXR
-linear response, gamma from 1.6 - 1.8

Comments:

-Seriously NOT POSSIBLE in the time frame without Octane on our tiny renderfarm
-Camera shake in AFX
-No render passes. All in camera.
-All Octane Post effects (bloom, glare). Wish there were more (Ie: lens flares, more options for existing opticals: ringing, etc.)
-No complaints here. Just pure love to the Octane Dev. Team as usual. Thanks Karba!!!

Enjoy!

best,
O

I hear you. There are some spots. The client wanted to show a lot in a very small amount of time. I would have preferred some camera cuts, but they wanted continuous cameras in some spots.

Thanks Elvis!

O

wow, O! That was captivating. The level of detail through entire short & all those people..still can get how You managed to put everything in =)

agree on a way with camera, but I can understand that sometimes it's hard to fight with cliets - some still want that hyper drone flight =DDD

How long it took to produce from scratch?
(& what resources - team - You had?)

EPIC!
few questions:

render farm specs?
how many employees to model everything?
You modeled with Rhinoceros or Max?
how many days to complete all frames?
where are you from? You have a cg company?

regards
