Hi, first I dont mean to offense anyone here (because my english sucks!)

Well I post this because after keeping an eye on this maya forum I see a lack of support from octane developers.

Maybe thats just a perception but in the cinema 4d forum I see a lot more feedback from otoy/developer answering questions and helping. Here seems that a lot of the questions remain without answers for a long time.

Maybe Im wrong. I ask this because Im interested in buy the maya plugin but Im not sure because of this..

Any idea?

Hi Jagger

I know what you mean.

A few people have commented on this, both users and developers.

Like you, I don't mean to offend when making comments, but someone at Octane needs to make sure that there is at least 1 person person Plugin.
How can we get developer feedback, when the developer is spread over multiple 3D apps.

This is a real concern for me, particularly for getting beginners up and running and so investing in the long term user base.
As you say, there is a great example and formula in C4D of how a forum should be run.

I know some developers have commented on this subject, so I want to ask Octane and Otoy. Please, can we have a minimum of 1 developer per app.

No offense, honestly.

Cheers.

Hi Guys,

I think some question I did,I had the answer from this forum, and really quick compare to others Render engine, Now is true I find to a lot more support for Cinema 4d, and I think we should have a lot more support view the demand of questions, for my self I have in total 19 standalone license and 9 Maya plug licenses... I didn't buy more cause of some problems with the Octane Engine not Maya plug issue but we are a Maya user we should have a big attention from the developers of Octane engine on this forum section.

For business matters.

I could have 4 time more licenses but we are definitely concern about the support.

Again Questions about Maya plug for me is a great support faster and quicker now Octane Developers ZERO.

Nada.

This my point the view, and is not to judge but to improve the service.

I certainly don't want to offend or upset anyone but I think it's worth mentioning here that in this other thread that I started about the same issue, the developer actually responded after multiple requests but he only referred me to the search bar and said I would find the answer in the results. I had already searched and there was nothing even near an answer in the results, which is why I asked. He also locked the thread so it cannot even be responded to. See for yourself:

Very strange.

You get the feeling that Otoy doesn't really prioritize support, eh? They should hire a person who just handles the support for each plugin, so that the coder isn't feeling like he/she has to take away time from programming to answer questions. This same person could also keep the help documentation up-to-date, which would also answer a lot of questions before they would need to get posted on the forum.

But does otoy read this? Are they aware of this?

I was actually going to post a topic exactly like this, but I thought maybe I'd offend someone or make people mad. But I too have been watching and I've seen about ZERO support on anything.
