Noise on transparent textures

Dear Aoktar
first of all thank you very much for your efforts to help us artists to render out nicer images!
I remarked a strong noise on transparent textures and already raised the sample number to up to 2500 (pathtracing)
but did not get rid of it ... I attached the scene file, it would be great if you could have a look at it to see what I am doing wrong.

I am running on macosx10.3 Cinema4DR16 Octane 2.21.1
kind regards from spring in cologne

Martin

Hi MartinZip,

I tweaked your scene for animation.
The main Problem was your HDRI... it was generating lots of noise... the higher you go with the HDRI Power and Gamma, if it has a lot of harsh highlights, the noisier it gets, at least with specular materials. Thats at least what I experience so far.
So I did some basic extra lighting and used another HDRI from the OctaneStudioPack... you can tweak the extra lights the way you like.

Not sure if there is still enough glare... haven`t tweaked that in the file below... just set the glare_power to somehting like 5 or 6.

Also tweaked your material a bit, less reflectivity (seems also reducing some noise) and index of 1.5 for glass. Not sure, what you have been going for, 1.3 is sort of plastic.
Another thing I once got stuck with: you set the "Min display samples" in the Camera Imager Settings of you Camera to 17, got it back to 1. That gives much smoother realtime Feedback in the LiveViewer!!

Now its rendering in FullHD in about a minute (using GTX780ti+GTX580), and its almost clean at 600-700 samples, if you do some denoising... or let it cook to 1500 samples and its super clean, depending on the time and GPUs you have for the animation.

Here another Shot of your animation with some subtle glare.

Pathtracing rocks for small animation-scenes like this. :)
