Hi karba,
Do you think hair and fur will be increase with octane 3.x ?? Have any news from autodesk ? Do they provide you full access to the sdk to implement hair and fur better ?
Cheers.

I don't know if I understand your question.
Hair and Fur was supported in some version of octane's plugin. Then it wasn't supported in the version I'm using now, I have to convert all the hair to geometry. I'd imagine it will be enabled again at some point. If they release another "official" version of octane before 3.0, then I would guess it would be enabled but who knows.

Hi,
well, i mean a better support of hair and fur modifier than the actual. Random scale parameter doesn't work, tip/root material is not supported etc etc ... nothing work. Personnally i don't use hair and fur modifier to achieve hair, but i use a particle flow system, or a geometry instanced by hair and fur modifier.
It would be great to have an option to choose, between strands rendering, or geometry, and a full support of the hair and fur modifier, and a hair material ... karba has explained that autodesk don't provide him full access to the sdk of 3ds max that's why we do not have a better support.
So, i hope for the next major release a full support of hair and fur modifier which is included with 3ds max. I don't intend to purchase hairfarm or ornatrix because i'm a freelancer ...

Standard Hair and fur has never been properly supported by Octane plugin. All solutions have been kind of "hacks".
Max SDK is too confusing to implement it. Otoy should contact Autodesk and try to solve it. I'm not sure why they haven't done it so far.
