Can Octane use Light Gels Like This?

Found this product from Daz3D. emailed tech support there but no response.
I normally use HDR for lighting in Octane. I guess I just use the Python script to convert
the Gel Light to Octane Light? Any suggestions. Anyone used it? I don't own it to test it. Thanks.

Well, Poser / DAZ Studio light gel technology is trying to simulate OctaneRender (and any other ubiased, photometric renderer) will do on its own.
Simply do what you can see in that image (That's the great part about Octane

)
The character in that shot is obviously lit directly from the front, with slides or vents covering the light to add that dramatic effect.
Simply pose your character, place a directed spot light in the scene pointing at your character, and now just add the blinds between your light and the character.
Voilá - same effect
You could however add a texture (mimicking the vents) and add that into the texture channel of your spot light - same effect, and pretty much the same what light gels do in Poser/DS.

Thanks. I'll just go with the texture option from the light emitter.

Well, added a texture of white and black strips to the texture node of the light emitter, and didn't do anything. Any particular way to make the texture? Also, I had HDR light on as well. Gives more skin tone realism. Maybe that's killing the emitter texture. Thought?

In Reality the thing was to send the light through something. i.e. mask that projected something, or a colored gel which got those effects.

I did use a Gel. And those are for Daz, I have Poser. Did I put the gel texture in the wrong node? Geez, easier just to do it in photoshop, HA.

IMO, to do this properly, you need to put a light behind a blinds prop.
