Simulating a night shot

I don't have lights in my model, but by implementing the glass as a diffuse, transparent, self-illuminating surface it seems possible to get an approximate night time view...
This uses Octane's daylight solution and pathtracing (it took over 6 hours!) The missing element seems to be light spill onto the courtyard outside.
Is there a better way to do this (apart from sticking hundreds of lights into the model)?
