Bump map and normal map at same time

Hi,
Any chance we can use both bump and normal maps at the same time in coming releases?
I also noticed something strange with the search function. You can search for 'bump' ok, but not for the word 'normal'. It said the word is to common or short. However it does search for the word 'map'. Is this intentional?
Cheers,
Andrew.

Any news whether mixing bump/normal/displacement will happen any time soon or at all? Or at least a way to combine normal maps internally?

Hi,
no, currently is not possible to use together bumps and normals, the only workaround except combining them in PS, is to use a mix material with two different version of the same material, one with bump and the other with normal. You have to double the power for both, since they are mixed at 50%.

You can mix 2 materials, one with bumpmap and one with normal map. using the material mix

Yes, problem with mixing 2 different materials with normals is they do not seem to respect the distortion that each creates.
For example, big dimples on a couch made with one normal, fabric texture made with another. The fabric texture does not seem to flow into dimples.
Any news from the Devs about new and wondrous ways to mix textures inside octane - ala PS blend modes, or vectors?

I've been struggling myself with this for quite some time and would love to see it implement it into the engine.

+1!
hi there,
would be also nice to mix 2 or more normal maps, maybe with some control over every channel of the map without jumping in and out Pshop or nesting material mixes.
(and maybe a stronger multiplier for the intensity of normal maps?)
not to mention that if i add a displace to the mix, most of the time i get unpredictable results.
Cheers~!

+1, but bump sucks, I want to use two normal maps (with different tiling to create a detail map), or displacement + normal map.

i wish they would just tell us that they aren't going to add this. such a basic feature missing and them staying silent on the issue is getting real old

YES more than one normal will also be amazing (yesterday I was trying to mix a rought base with some scratches but ended up scratching my head instead) and Rikk bump doesn't completely sucks it's the only way to get an anisotropic effect in reflections I would like for you to show me how you do that with a normal! haha
