Hi. New to Octane and totally loving the demo. Its a game changer.
Have dozens of questions but I will start with this one :)

I am trying to setup the HDRI environment, and I checked the help file. Its pretty straight forward.
press 8 > hook up texture environment > drag to mat editor > hook up Image texture.
BUT WHERE IS IMAGE TEXTURE? I cant seem to find it. Is it not available in the demo version or am I doing something wrong ?
Please help.

Im seeing this help link - http://render.otoy.com/manuals/3dsMax_2_X/?page_id=97
go right to the end.

hi there,

I don't know if that's what You ask, but as You upload texture image for the environment simply drag & drop it into material "thing" (that window with balls, appears when you press M) - then You can tweak Your map, rotate, etc.

does that help to solve You problem?

Thanks glimpse.
I am doing something similar to what you mentioned. Ive shared a screenshot of what I am doing. please tell what am I doing wrong ?
What do I have to do after I drag and drop 'texture environment' into material editor?
How do I import the HDR file ?

You don't need to choose texture environment =) just grab RGB texture (from OctaneList) & then drop that (as instance) into material editor..- when You press on it should have a possibility to link HDR map You would like. Use gamma of 1 if You go for realistic lighting (lwf workflow)..

P.S. I'm finishing simple tutorial that might be helpful =) it will be focused on Standalone, but all the concepts applies to any plugin too =) check my website soon, I'll post about that!
