hi, I'd like to know if the old release of Octane (the 1.55) supports the new generation cards (i'd like to buy a gtx970.

Maxwell card support was added in 1.54 so it should work with DL and Pathtracing kernels. The only downside no PMC and lower performance compared to latest releases which offers full support.
