4x Titans will have gk110 under the hood..- in Octane all drawing less than 1KW with entire system..
To be safe with PSU get Yourself 1200W at least, or better even more as other task might require more juice. All for the sake of having extra headroom & stability as Your PSU is going to wear out with time & good power "brick" is a fundamental for stable system. Simply put, get the best You can afford.. it will pay through time...

Titan draws 250 watts I would go for 1200W+. coz your system draws power too.
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop ... ifications

I have two Titan Black and one Titan Z in one case with 1500W PSU.
I measured a power draw of PC (with mouse and keyboard) rendering with all 4 Titans is 838 kw/h

I used to have 4x 580 classified with 1500W PSU in another case
when rendering full power with 4x580 the powerdraw was 1296Watt/h.

Another case has 2x Titan Z with 1200W using it as a slave doing nothing else.
I would go for 1400 or 1500W if it was my main working PC, but I like safe and solid much and rather overkill and have stable machine then be on the edge.

Hope this helps instead of confuses.

greetings,

Similar here. I've 4 Titan black's in one case and use a 1500W PSU.

greetings,
On the link you can see a power draw of 250w and advice for 600w system,
So adding 350W seems to be OK
Having 4 Titans each 250W plus 350w equals 1300W minimum.

But not in Octane - unless you overclock heavily. Octane uses less power for some reason. My theory is that it uses VRAM less intensively - unlike, for instance, gaming. There are probably other factors too.

yeah, Seeker is right =) Sebastiant came to this conclusion in our article (Value-based GPU build for Octane Render). But on the other side Guys recommending more not only for Octane but for whole system & other tasks - spikes happen..& if let's say OctaneRender under load worth 4x OCed GPU will use under 1kW, Your system might spike from time to time..-if You have weaker power supply that is low quality - You're risking to burn Your entire system..so saving 100$ bucks in 5000$ build seems stupid..

It's not so much the wattage but the amps on the 12v rail you should be checking. 250w card will draw around 20A. Also there is a power loss over time which you should consider (30% over 2 years I think but check it online). I refused to pay premium for one single big ass PSU and went for the multi psu option instead. Also when one of them breaks I will be much cheaper to replace.
