Hi Juanjgon,
This his a little OT but I don't knoe where to ask this.
I have used hdri studio in lightwave with your plugin and rendered with octane without any problem for months.
But, I have some issues now. What has changed : I use now lightwave 2015 and have a new internet box. The pc mac adress his the same.
I have sometime hdri studio not affecting ipr render. I don't now why. Sometime it works, sometime not.
Sometimes all works right but after an hour or 2, hdri studio say that the software is not licensed and switch in disovery mode.
Can you help me please?
Thank you very much,
Francesco

If you have an HDRLS licensing problem it is better to write to Lightmap and ask them about this issue, I am not sure how HDRLS licensing work. About the problems with LightWave 2015, I have made a change in the HDRLS plugin code that should be updated by Lightmap soon ... anyway this change is only related to the LW native renderer, so I am not sure if this could fix your problem with Octane.
I think that it is better to try to fix first the licensing problem. Perhaps you should install both LW and HDRLS again with fresh config files.
If now you try HDRLS in LW 11.6, do you have this problems?

Hi Juanjgon,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I have Tried in lw11.6 . I have the same problem.
After some tests, I think that the issue become from the licensing thinks.
After a license problem a scene that worked fien before don't work anymore. I have tried to reload presets, redo the rig, enable/disable plugin but nothing.
I'm going to contact lightmap.
Thank you again
Francesco

Be sure to str tOctane and HDRLS in right order.
As for licence, HDRLS is linked/licensed to MAC adress (unlike LW) so you can't just install it on different machine but yes ask LightMap guys to be sure

Hi!
I don't know if this is any help for anyone but I use LW2015.2 and HDRLS and I have never encountered a license problem with HDRLS. My HDRLS usage is quite basic (usually just one or two light sources to make reflection where I need etc.) but for me it works just fine
(Sorry Juanjo, the below is TOTALLY off-topic for Octane)
So I think you might have some problem with your installation of HDRLS and/or LW2015. I don't like the way LW configs work i.e. that you need to do everything from scratch each time but I only do that for major upgrades. Normally I just install new version and run it once (both modeler and layout) so that it creates the folder (under .NewTek), then archive it to rar (just in case) and then copy the exact name of the folder and delete the folder and finally rename the previous version folder to copied name. The only additional change needed is to rename the cfg files to match the new version (look at the file naming inside rar). After that everything works as before (just remember to copy the octane.dat and octane.dll to new version bin).
You of course may already know this (and probably do) but I wanted to tell you just in case

Anyway, if you have problems with LW/HDRLS, I recommend you to reinstall both from scratch and that should be done when doing major upgrades (like 11.6->2015). The trick above works fine for 2015.1->2015.2 and similar minor updates.
And by that procedure, I have no licensing or any other problems with HDRLS so you should get the same result
Good luck!
Antti
