Creating Custom Material Library for Octane Render

Lately though of making a series of posts (and sharing some) of materials for Octane Render.
so, I'm starting a WIP, where I'll post some work-in-progress & some links for more info &/or downloads.

Here's a preview of material #1: brushed(aluminium)/inox-like material with anisotrophic reflection properties.

Image

The same mat in development, rendered using studio HDR image with four light sources - I was spinning around just to see what difference lighting makes - have to say "light picking" looks so "dimensional" that You could easily be tricked to believe it's not a flat surface =)

Image

Nothing so much changed (maybe just intensity of bump texture & roughness a little bit),
but this time HDR was with nature view - much more pleasant tones have to say.

Image

Last but not least, here is a difference a simple bump map could make (color tones/exposure are not tuned, but it's good-enough for fast preview, using free scene)

Image

Had no wish to work on dedicated scene, but seeing how much environment matters I'm considering to play a bit more just to showcase this mat at it's best (pobably having some small lights, reflective surfaces would make it look even more interesting, but..we'll find out later how that goes =)

for now that's it =) see You later! More to come..

as mentioned, You can download free scene (fully set-upped & ready to render). Think You can figure out how that mat was made - as far as I remember it has only one map in two blended materials =) really simple!

Wow, that looks incredible -- NICE JOB!

For the ground -- did you use a small amount of displacement, or is it just a really great bump map?

It's simple bump (though full setup is a bit more complex than I previously stated..- it was created loooong time ago), but.. Here's a closer look on a mat-ball.
