Installing Daemon

When setting up a slave, It asks for my username / pass for my octane live acct. I've tried my standalone user and pass, my plugin user and pass, and my website login user and pass, and it always says it's "invalid OctaneLive account"

Can somebody help me out here. I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Let me add that I only have one license of Octane (Standalone and 3dsmax plugin). I don't need ANOTHER standalone license to render on slave machines do I? Because that would be insane. There are N number of free nodes, right?

Sorry, this is the type of thing that should just work and it just doesn't. I tried disabling my firewall and then connecting. It just can't authenticate.

Besides your standalone license for the master,
you need an extra standalone license for each slave.

(btw: you do not need extra plugin licences when using a plugin)

Ugh - that gets expensive fast. Don't most engines offer a handful of free slaves? I can't justify another $500 just to render on another computer.

There are a lot of opinions about that... and there are several threads about it..
