Having a problem getting native motion blur to work with instances. Works with clones but not instances, anyone know how to make this work?

It works, but only in F9/F10 final rendering. The IPR doesn't support instancing MB due to architecture problem in the Layout.

Here's a test scene. The first bicycle is the base mesh, the next is a clone, the the last is an instance. The instanced bicycle won't motion blur.

I think that the problem is that you are instancing an object that already have it's own movement. If you instance an static bicycle you get the right motion blur in the instances. Octane inherit the object motion blur from the object to be instanced and we get some kind of "double motion blur" that doesn't render at all in Octane.
Try to instance an static bicycle and let me know if it works.

Worked like a charm thanks Juanjo. The workflow I've adopted is to have my static meshes (those I wish to clone/instance) off screen and that gives me freedom to animate the clones and instances.
