Why does Octane v1.2 standalone not see GTX970 CUDA cores?

I just installed my spanking new Asus GTX 970 Strix, and to my utter disbelief and sadness, Octane doesn't recognize this GPU.

The card works fine otherwise, so that's not the problem.

In the CUDA devices panel, it shows the name of the card, how much VRAM, etc, but under cores it shows a question mark. The render viewport also shows a status item in red, telling me that it is unable to render anything because no CUDA device is present.

Various other tools that display hardware information show me that there are 1,664 cores. So I'm pretty sure it's not the hardware.

Do I need some kind of patch? Is maybe a settings file corrupted?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Oh, and of course I updated the driver, so that's also covered.

I suspect Octane 1.20 doe not support your card.

The core of the 1.2 does not support GTX970 V2 support

So, if I have a GTX970, I can't use Octane educational?

Not going to lie, I'm disappointed. :/

Educational licenses are locked on 1.20 or older.
1.20 or older can't "see" GTX 970.
So, I can't use Octane Educational.

As much as I would love buying a license, I can't afford at this moment.

I do understand this =) I just made an offer =) to swap (change cards) - so You could use educational version without buying a licence. Yes it's sort of monkey business (though I'm not willing to spend my money to air), but..at least You'll be able to run program =)
