Does Octane plug-in work with a floating license of Maya

I got this question from the IT dept before they set up my machine -
Does Octane plug-in work with a floating license of Maya?

I have only used the Standalone previously so I can't verify if it would or would not work. My guess is "of course!".
Does anyone with a floating license of Maya use the Octane plug-in?

Thank you!

The Maya licenses are the same as the standalone, you can deactivate them so you can move them. You will need to deactivate and move both the maya and standalone licenses when you move the plugin. You can do this as many times as you want but only once per hour.

Thanks for the quick reply FooZe.

I actually didn't clarify that I was talking about the Maya license. Let me try to re-phrase.

If your Maya is connected to a floating license (not Octane but Maya itself) instead of a single node license would adding the Octane plug-in still function?

Seems like a really silly question but I can't test it on my home machine since it's not a floating license for Maya.

YEp,

it will work. But, you will have to move the octane licence from pc to pc if you change your working station.
Apparently there is no floating licence for octane, unfortunately.

Thanks ciboulot!

Yes, I have already struggled with the octane license deactivate and move issue. I am just getting a separate license for work to avoid it.
