Emission casting extra shadows on Matte materials

So, I can't seem to use emissive textures. I've tried playing with all of the settings, but here you see some polygons on the computer tower selected and turned into a midnight blue light. Doesn't matter if I have the power or distribution so low that the light doesn't even show up, still casts unrealistic shadows. Is this because I'm using an HDRI to light the scene and there's no other physical lights? I know I can use a luminant texture, but sometimes I need things to emit light without creating a giant shadow. The computer screen WAS doing the same thing, but I just decided to turn the emission off on that.

Edit: Using a matte material on floor does this. Are we not allowed to use emission with matte? Makes shadow catching difficult!

Maybe you should share the scene because I don't have this bug with my test scene

Try changing the floor to a matte material as a shadow catcher. Then you should see what I'm talking about. I just figured out that's the cause of it.

please post a basic scene to reproduce the problem. We can't reproduce here

With Matte turned on on the floor material, you get unwanted shadows, with it off, it behaves as you would expect, correctly. This IS in 2.14, and I'll be updating to the newest today. It won't seem to let me upload the C4D file. I'll message you Ahmet.

Wouldn't allow .c4d files in message or posts. I zipped it instead, here is a basic scene. Turn on and off the matte checkbox and you'll see in the liveviewer instantly what I'm talking about. Or you should anyways.

You can decrease shadow on matte by adding texture emission in his emission chanel. ;)

Don't know if this workaround could help...
