Hey guys,
I started working on a personal ident project and wanted to share some current test frames.
I use c4d + octane, the biggest issue so far seems it's almost impossible to get rid of the noise in bokeh highlights. Any suggestions how to get better sampling on DOF areas much appreciated.
Thanks!
Nejc

Very nice renders! It just pushed me back at my old sk8 times

The materials overall are really cool!
2 things i discovered:
1. The long distance between the screws on top isnt right, or the Baseplate seems too long?
2. The Hanger needs to be "way more" worn and scratched
About the DOF noise, i personally like it very much. It gives the renders a nice touch and "streetfeeling".
But to avoid DOF noise, you could bake the image longer or just render it double size and scale it down.
cheers,
djart

Thank you guys!
djart, you're right!
I modeled the deck based on an Element board reference. I already had the trucks model, so when I tried to put those together, things didn't match perfectly, so I cheated there a bit. I might go in and try to fix that, but will see how much time I'll have. I also left it like that since I doubt it will be noticeable in the final video.
Regarding texture on trucks, this is still something I'm planning. Will definitely add some grind scratches

but would like to have animation ready before that.
Here's another closeup shot (have to flip the wheel texture which is mirrored currently)

twistedpoly, I think this is where the new "diffuse roughness" option in one of the latest octane rc would come in handy for the upper part.
Added diffuse roughness which allows you to simulate very rough surfaces like sandpaper or clay. It works similar to Oren-Nayer.
