OctaneDayLight Importance Sampling

Hey guys,
I'm trying to figure out how to get importance sampling working when using the environment map in OctaneDayLight.
What I've tried to do is - Create an OctaneDayLight - Set up my sun where I want it - Select Sky Texture box and give it a Texture Environment material. I then place an RGB texture in the texture environment and from there I select my HDR.
Everything I've read says this is the proper way of doing it. But, for me it does nothing. I get no sky texture. The only way I can get it to work is to bypass the texture environment and place an RGB texture directly in the OctaneDayLight Sky Texture. So I am unable to use Importance Sampling.
I was able to get the Texture Environment working in 3dsMax environment but I am unable to use that and the OctaneDayLight at the same time because the OctaneDayLight appears to override the 3dsmax environment.
Am I unable to use the Texture Environment with OctaneDayLight?
