The OSX version of OctaneRender™ for Maya® plugin, 64-bit.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Version 2015 64-bit on OSX operating system (including and above 10.8).

Notes regarding features/functionality

OctaneRender™ for Maya® implements almost full functionality of OctaneRender™ standalone inside Maya®.

COMPATIBILITY AND OCTANERENDER STANDALONE REQUIREMENT

To run OctaneRender™ for Maya®, you need to also have an activated OctaneRender™ Standalone copy activated on the machine you wish to install the plugin onto.
You cannot purchase and use only the Maya plugin and use it without also owning an activated copy of OctaneRender™ Standalone on your machine
.

HOW TO PURCHASE LICENSES

Go to our online shop here: http://render.otoy.com/shop/

If you do not own an OctaneRender™ Standalone Edition License yet:
You can purchase both the OctaneRender™ Standalone Edition and the OctaneRender™ for Maya® Edition as a reduced price bundle, purchase the bundle priced at 459€

If you already own one or more OctaneRender™ Standalone Edition licenses you want to pair the plugin with:
Purchase an "OctaneRender™ for Maya® Beta License" priced at 199€

You can also purchase a 3, 5 or 10 pack of OctaneRender™ for Maya® licenses, just like OctaneRender™ Standalone Edition packs.

OCTANELIVE

Just like OctaneRender™ Standalone, the Maya® plugin product also needs an additional OctaneLive license and be activated on a machine.
This has to be done in the plugin interface panel in Maya, and is covered in the included PDF manual.
It can only be done after an OctaneRender™ Standalone license is already activated on the machine in question.

CHANGES AND FIXES SINCE LAST RELEASE:
  • Switched to 2.15 engine.
  • Some render passes changes.

Your Installer worked fine with on
Maya 2015 SP5 on
Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.1
Web Driver 343.01.02f01
CUDA 6.5.25
One Titan Z

I was able to get the standalone 2.16 and 2.15 running on my Mac OSX and can render on both of these.

When I render in Maya using Octane (Activated and shows samples processing) I get a white screen.

Having both 2.16 and 2.15 in the applications folder.... could that be it???

Thanks

Peter

Could you please enable the verbose mode and post the content of script editor after starting the render?..
I suppose there may be some issues with this version after switching to 2.15 OSX SDK (as Blender OSX plugin version has some issues too)... If so - will be fixed in next version...

Yep
Tried taking the 2.16 Standalone version out and it still gave me the same error.
Where does the verbose log get written on the Mac OSX system Jim Star.

I'll send it to ya

Peter

If the standalone has the same error - it may be absolutely different reason of your issues, not the plugin's... Perhaps some scene settings?.. Or maybe some CUDA driver issues...

The same as on other OSes - in Maya's script editor.;)

Nothing bad in the log. I still think it may be some issue between plugin and Octane OSX SDK... I'm on vacation right now, so will check it after I be back.
