Export "3d"?

hi
sometime ago i saw somekind of "3d" / panorama image, where one can rotate the view in any angle.
i have a project, where this could be very usefull - but is it possible to create this with octane / 3ds max?
i guess i need a "how to" for dummies, if it's possible
