I too would be interested in a Fusion plug-in. Just downloaded the free version and started playing with the 3d features. Seems to import Alembic files very well and is really responsive. Don't know how to do much at the moment but this could be an alternative to After Effects and Element 3d (I still plan to upgrade to E3D v2 when it is released later this month).

Would love to hear from more knowledgeable people familiar with Fusion 7 to hear their thoughts about the software and how it might benefit from Octane integration.

Are the Octane Devs considering this?

I think Fusion will change current scheme of VFX in its new home.. If you check CMIVFX - Digital Tutors and FXPHD trainings.. you wont believe the power lies within that program.

I am sure OTOY will port Octane to Fusion .. and think about using that power - within Fusion.. wow:)

Great news and shocked me a litle! That's my first love as a vfx program. I really loved this tool since first version.

Octane render pass management is priority to take full advantage of Fusion workflows.
One of them is proper implementation of obj/mat ids in octane that Fusion can read. Been suggesting this feature for a couple of weeks and they said they have a plan and bam Fusion becomes free. So devs can better test that feature request with Fusion now.

So, Fusion has stereoscopic rendering and alembic support. Orbx would fit in as well?

Sounds to me like a tool what to study, as an interesting route to high end Oculus vr experience (not a game, not a movie, but a vr-experience).

Altough, the stuff I have my eyes on, stereoscopic rendering (together with VFX particles and volumetris) costs 995$.

Is it worth it?

Doesn Fusions particle system compete with TurbulenceFD forexample? How about fluids? Close to Realflow (what I will never buy, because of it´s ridiculous price tag)?

Since Otoy has said all the same tools are coming in Octane 2.xx cycle: VR authoring tools and particles and volumetrics..

Meh, thinking about this out loud, I think I´ll stick with my original plan: I´ll wait for Octane 3.0 and Brigade 3.0 and focus on making the actual scenes in the mean time.

Pardon,

I misunderstood. There is stereoscopic rendering in free version as well. In 995$ there are advanced optical flow analyzing tools.

Well, I installed the program and started to fool around with it.

Interesting.

EDIT:

Nah, correction, stereoscope is in the 995$ version and not in this free version. Oh well. Nice tool anyways for other work.

actually it is a very important request. I hope there will be quick update.. :)

About vector motions ...do we have a workaround (thinking lightwave of course:))
