Hello,
i have on lightwave 11.6 Octane 2.12.1 (but i tried 2.10 and 1.12.0). i think to have a problem with smooth on Glossy and Specular materials.

It does not change if i set SMOOTH active or deactive.

Do you have the smooth parameter enabled in the main LW surface panel?

If you want to share the scene I could test it here.

Ops, the problem was that!! When i tried to change i did not "Reload" on IPR.

Yes, you need to reload the scene after change the LW smoothing parameter. The problem is that without this parameter enabled, LightWave doesn't have the smoothed normals to add this information to the Octane mesh, so smoothing is impossible in the render.
