Hi,
Here is Elvis

Hydrocynus Avis (Volucris), or more commonly called in the local dialect "Mbenga Ndege":

an imaginary creature, from a Mudbox session that has diverted ... :o
Anyway, I guess this is the missing link between a freshwater fish crocodiles eater (goliath tiger fish like ) and a bird more than marine ,air penguin guy ...;)
He lived (lives?) Nestled in the corner of the Congo River between river and mangrove ..

Soft: Mudbox, Cinema 4d, Substance Painter, Octane Render (pmc).

Looks cool.

How did you get on with the displacement from Mudbox?

I'd be keen to know your workflow, as I had a few issues.

cheers.

Hi,
thanks for your words.

@Glimpse:
you're absolutely right, I actually think the appearance of the skin is important because the sculpt is not very complex indeed. Here is the graph of the material type "specular" I used for the skin of the beast.

and the maps overview

@Jagger:
I'm not very familiar with this kind of workflow, but I can say that "Substance Painter" is very funny to use. It really was very cheap at start of the beta program, and I love the dynamic particles brushes system. I can not compare with Mari beacause i'd never use this soft.

@Prodviz:here my basic stages
sculpt my High poly
retopology
export low poly to unwrap UVs (here in bodypaint)
reimport UV set in Mudbox
"Sculpt details" translation to the low poly with new UV set (result a Normal map)
export my fbx low or mid poly with the fresh normal map
paint in Substance Painter and render in Octane via C4dplugg
to reply to your question, if I understand, I have not used a displacement but just a normal map.

Great!

I was about to just buy the new DDO and be done with it, but I must say Substance Painter looks very interesting.
How are you liking it so far and can you compare it to DDO?

Hi,
and thanks again.
@Elvissuperstar007: yeah yeah your forefather is not dead :D
@Gumz:I can not compare because I have practically done nothing with DDO.
I think the wokflow is completely different. one working with 2d maps, with each other you painted directly on the 3d model.Like i said before substance Painter is very fun to use. :D just my feeling.. ;)
