BUG: Polygon Limitation to 19.200.000

Hello there

i have found out that there is a polygon limitation around 19,2 mio polygons ( 19200000 ).
higher number of polyongs are not rendered.
Please dont question the polygon amount. it is needed in our scene.

some infos:
-GPU: Titan / 6 gb Vram.
- The scene with the 19,2 mio polygons takes 3,5 gbyte vram in the gpu.
so there is still more place avable. the card is not full.
-i didnt use another card with less ram. titan only.
-win7
-octane 2.06
-c4d r15

Error Message:
CUDA error 1 on device 0: One or more of the parameters passed were not within an acceptable range of values.
-> failed to bind texture to device memory (data5)
device 0: failed to bind data texture 4 of context 0
<<< Render Failure >>>

so there must be a limit.

Testfile:
i ve attached a scene file.
1. Open it
2. render it.
3. it should not render as mentioned above, if it renders, increase the cube subdivisions slightly.

can anyone check this? i would like to know if this is cuda. octane or octane bridge related ?

kind regards

Hey Aoktar,

Do you know why they made this limitation? During my last project I believe I used about 25 Million polygons with an older version of Octane. 1.x Or has it always been this way?
So why the limitation now?

Hi,
Yes that was. I'm not sure why it happened. Maybe new codes consumes more space or ..... Who knows? Let's to allow that they finish all big features. They may revise some parts. This is a long run. Keeping the fame of fastest render, this is not so easy!

I see, thanks for the info. Also I agree, let's keep Octane awesome!
