Not to sound like a asshole but have you used octane in standalone before or used Maya before? Will help to clarify with where you're having problems if you let us know

Yes I went through the entire manual yesterday, I love stand-alone works, great and I have had success with Maya plug in as well but I would like to know if there are some tutorials that exist just to speed up the learning process. I'm not having problems I would just like to know what training materials, if any, exist.

Ok one quick question: In the render settings under the OctaneRender LiveDB tab I get the message" LiveDB was disabled in scene settings... If you need it and have interent connections enable and press refresh button".

Where is the button to enable the database? I'm not finding it in any of the the Maya preferences, plug-in, or in the Render Settings windows. The database works wonderfully in the Stand alone version, I would love to use it in Maya as well. I'm sure I'm staring right at it just don't see it at the moment.

Thanks!

Oh my god I love this software! Whoever is responsible for the Maya plug-in I need to buy you a drink. Works so well, so stable, renders look beautiful. After years and years of wrestling with mental ray and Vray (and Modo, and Keyshot) I'm finally getting the renders I want in a fraction of the time! (I'll post some WIPS when I get a chance). I applaud you Otoy! Well done! I love the stand alone interface as well but its nice to be able to get instant feedback while working in Maya! Only took me a couple afternoons to get up to speed on this. :D :D :D

There's a checkbox in the render globals under Octane Render Settings -> Additional ->"enable liveDBrefresh"
Kinda stupid location and/or name, if you ask me...it took me quite a while to figure this out too.

Having trouble trying to batch render an animation using Octane in Maya 2015 via the plug-in. Manual does not have much info on this. Is it a matter of just starting a Batch render or is there some trick to it? Not getting any feedback from the Script editor (other than Rendering with OctaneRender...// Don't see any completed frames in the image directory.

Just enable "Verbose mode" in settings, and look at log file in Maya project directory.
