Thanks for the Linux version.
What is support with modo 701
or only from version 801 and greater support?
Thanks for the hard work.

I don't think a Modo 701 version is possible - because the Viewport window uses features only available in the Modo 801 API.

I will test the modo 801.
I'm very happy about a Linux version.
Sorry for my bad English.

Not sure if i did everything in the right place but Modo is crashing competely when loading the octane plugin here.
What i did:
Code: Select all
./OctaneRender_for_Modo_2_6_0_25_Linux.run --target /home/John/Downloads/OctaneForModo/
Code: Select all
cp -r /home/John/Downloads/OctaneForModo/ /usr/foundry/Modo701SP5/Content/Kits/
Start Modo
Manually loading the kit through Modo->System->Add Plug-in and load /usr/foundry/Modo701SP5/Content/Kits/OctaneForModo/extra/701/64/OctaneRenderForModo.lx
Modo crashes back to desktop

Hi John
If you use the installer it will place the files in a folder such that you shouldn't need to manually load it - Modo should find it automatically. Are you able to try the installation process as described above pls? Also, I recommend deleting your Modo801.CFG if you have problems like this.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
we finally figured out how to setup the plugin right (well at least luxology forced us to symlink the Content folder to /usr/share/Luxology).
**EDIT**
701 and 801: We receive an octane error during startup of modo saying we should check the octane logs. Where can we find the log files?
701 and 801: Plugin is available from dropdown menu on top.
701 and 801: We would like to authenticate so clicking Octane->Authenticate brings up a new authentication window.
701: There is no Activate button availabe
801: Button is available and authentication works

Hi John
Thanks for the info.

The button which looks like a command prompt on the Setup window.

The plugin uses the new Modo801 API, so will not run on Modo701. It's doesn't use all the new UI features of the Modo801 API yet (for instances, the Viewport may be able to be a Modo window, and dockable, with the Modo801 API - but this would need a different codebase to the currently shared code with the OSX and Windows versions). If there is sufficient interest (and users) I will make the Viewport a Modo Window (and therefore dockable) in the Linux version of the plugin.
