Changes in Version 2.10.0053
Trees in Carrara have two mesh resolutions. A low res. mesh is used for the Assembly Room so that the interactive nature of the viewport remains responsive. A high res. mesh is used for rendering which includes all the twigs and leaves of the tree. The problem is that you want to use the high res trees in the Octane Viewport and the Low Res trees in the Assembly Room. But this is not possible due to the way Carrara is designed. The Octane Plugin is designed to interface with the Assembly Room rather than the Render Room so that changes made in Carrara are reflected in the Octane viewport right away without you having to 'render' the scene. Therefore I made the decision to load High Res trees into the Assembly Room when a scene is loaded. Unfortunately, this can have a serious impact on the performance of the Carrara viewport when you have a lot of trees in the scene.
To help resolve this problem I have added a new switch to the Octane Settings Preferences Tab called 'High Res. Trees'. When enabled the high resolution mesh for trees will be loaded into the Assembly Room so that Octane can render them in their full glory. When disabled the low resolution mesh will be loaded into the Assembly Room so that the Carrara viewport remains responsive. The only GOTCHA to this solution is that you need to reload the scene into Carrara (not just the Octane Viewport) when you change this setting.
Your workflow when dealing with tree intensive scenes is to do all you scene work and animation design with the High Res. Trees disabled. Then, when you are ready to do your final render, save the scene, enable High Res. Trees, reload your scene, and start your render.
Let me know if this does not make sense to you and I will try and clarify.

Changes in Version 2.10.0052
- Added support for Movie TestureMaps.
- Added ability to switch between cameras in the ORVP
- Integrated with Octane SDK 2.10.
- Render Target is now saved with the Scene (.car) file.
- Added Copy Image To Clipboard button to the ORVP.
- Added Render Passes support (2.1 feature).
- Updated Octane Turbulence shader (2.1 feature).
- Added Time To Complete on ORVP stats bar (as in the standalone).
- Fixed Displacement count on ORVP stats bar.
- Fixed Alpha Channel so that 'None' forces Octane Opacity to 100%.
- Fixed Bump channel so that 'None' or non-normal shader clears the Octane Normal pin.
- Fixed Glow channel so that 'None' clears the Octane Emission pin.
- Fixed Transparency channel to ignore the Color channel when setting the Octane Transmission pin (it now only uses the transparency shader for color/texture). The Color Channel should be applied as a material mix, but for now, it is ignored.
