I use Vray toon quite often to add outlines to my renders and this is the feature I miss the most right now.
As it is just an atmospheric effect, would it be possible to support it? Would be a lot quicker than coding your own solution...

I heartily concur! I use V-Ray's toon outline mode to create a line rendering that I overlay on top of an Octane GI rendering when submitting drafts to my Clients. It's very helpful to my clients. An option in Octane next to the "clay mode" would be very welcome.

See the examples below. V-Ray toon rendering is very helpful, especially in Architectural applications. Having this function native to Octane would be REALLY helpful.
