Help-me for convert in .obj from 3dsmax

hello all, I'm not an user in 3dsmax (sketchup), but I was given the 3D model with (sub-object material-mentalray or vray) I would convert obj file for the standalone version, unfortunately I have only one material. you have a quick and easy solution?
