Hello every one !
I'm just starting to have some fun with octane, and understand how the mix materials work.

I wanted to do something like this :

A piece of wood which let the light pass through it

But actually, I don't know how to achieve this, if someone can explain me in details, I m sure it could help me a lot for my progression in octane, thank you !

I'm new. But I think all you need to do is to load the normal wood material, but use the Transmission controls to allow light to pass through the wood. Best of luck!

I forgot to add that you might need to lower the opacity of the material as well. But only to 0.9 or so, as any lower and the bulb mesh itself might become visible.

Why not using a simple texture emmission and put the wood texture in it?
The wood would emit light then and look like on the reference. I will try later today. :)
