HELP! How to make an OCS?

I'm sure this is an incredibly basic question, but I'm stumped.
I've been using MAX and SU plugins for a bit now. Still very unfamiliar with Standalone. I need to make an OCS, but I can't figure out how. I exported the desired model from MAX as an ORBX. It opened great in Octane... now what?

File > Save As.
The .ocs is just the file extension for saved scenes in the standalone.
The orbx I think is similar to FBX which is used as an intermediate format between max, maya etc.

That's what I would have thought, but it is greyed out.
I selected one object (a tree) from a MAX camera viewport. I exported via "Standalone Export" in Octane Tools tab. This created an ORBX file. The ORBX file loaded great into Octane Standalone, but the "Save As" option is not available. What am I doing wrong?

You need to unpack a project loaded from a .orbx file via File > Unpack Package. Make sure that you reload the project from .ocs if you want to continue with the .ocs file. Otherwise you end up editing the package.

Ok...
I tried that. I went from an ORBX around 64MB to an OCS that was only 26kb. Loading the OCS worked in Octane, but not as a proxy in Sketchup.
This is ultimately what I'm trying to accomplish:

Ok... so I thought maybe I was fighting a version issue, so I updated to 2.06. Now I see proxies support ORBX as well, but still no joy. I do the context menu link thing, my SU proxy object disappears, but nothing appears in its place. Any ideas?

Don't know anything about "proxies in sketchup" but a tentative guess at why the OCS is smaller than the ORBX... maybe the ORBX is like a zipfile and includes all the content like textures and .OBJ files etc.
The .ocs, on the other hand, is just a bunch of pointers to the files which are stored externally. I don't know if that piece of guesswork helps or not but there it is.
