pls octane team i plan to buy a cubix xpander pro 2, i was hoping i could use it on both my laptop and desktop but soon found out that the express card 34 connection
speed is low(2.5gbps compared to 80gbps desktop version) i need help on deciding which pci e slot is best for octane render i know x16 is the fastest but i need to know its octane performance difference with a x8 and x1 or express card 34 slot, is the difference huge? so i can make a better decision. :? thanks in advance

actually the speed of the pci-e only matter when loading the scene to the memory, once done, it doesn't affect rendering. So if you use a 1x it'll be slower than a 8x but you won't notice it. I've got my 470 in a 8x slot and my 260 in the 16x, the 470 is the one I use for rendering and I don't really apreciate the difference between them.

You can use PCIE x4 - X16 slots for the graphics cards.PCIE V2.0 would be prefered for bandwidth. However the only impact on using a slower slot like a x4 would be the increased time it takes to load the scene into the graphics card.Once it is in the card the scene will render just as quickly.

No.Careful.Games are a whole different issue. The Games run off the CPU and Ram.Results are then fed to the graphics card continously. That means bandwidth is an issue.A PCIE V2.0 x8 slot at least is needed to be effective.
